Learning Outcomes for High School Business Education


The following learning objectives are geared towards 9-12 grade business education students:

                              Supply and Demand

Students will be able to explain how supply and demand are related to the price and quantity of a product.

Students will be at to define and explain the law of demand.

Students will be able to illustrate and explain a demand curve as it relates to the law of demand.

1.  If the costs of supplies/components needed to build an ipad fall then,
       A.  the demand curve for ipads shift left
       B.  the supply curve for ipads shift left
       C.  the demand curve for ipads shift right
       D.  the supply curve for ipads shift right

2.  The Supply Curve slopes upward because:
      A.  As the price goes up, so do costs
      B.  As the price increases, suppliers can produce more because there is more profit
      C.  As prices increase, demand decreases.
       D.  As prices increase, demand decreases.

3.  True or False.  An increase in the price of chips will shift the demand curve for chips to the right.

Essay:

Define demand.  Identify and explain factors that affect it.
